The Elser Hotel

Miami Design Shop was commissioned by The Elser Hotel and Property Markets Group (PMG) to design, engineer, fabricate, and install a series of custom 10-foot architectural metal divider walls for the lobby—delivered in an accelerated one-week timeline leading up to the hotel’s grand opening.

The brief demanded precision, ingenuity, and flawless execution under pressure. Our team responded with a full design-to-install pipeline, producing 3D renderings, technical shop drawings, CNC patterns, and structural detailing in real time alongside fabrication. Every panel was laser-cut, powder-coated, and assembled in-house, allowing us to maintain total quality control from the first sketch to the final bolt.

The result: a sculptural wall system that blends geometry and texture into a unified visual rhythm—adding privacy, depth, and architectural identity to the lobby without disrupting its openness or flow. The perforated panels, visible in the final installation photos, create a dynamic play between shadow and light, revealing glimpses of the interior while maintaining a sense of separation and refinement.

Following the success of the lobby installation, Miami Design Shop was brought back to develop custom privacy screens for the hotel’s fitness center. These large-format metal panels continue the visual language established in the lobby—sharp lines, intentional perforation, and a balance of transparency and structure. Installed floor-to-ceiling, they create a seamless architectural identity across both spaces.

Additionally, our team produced conceptual design studies for the building’s entry corridor, exploring material palettes, pattern development, lighting integration, and guest-flow considerations. This design continuity ensured that the visual experience of The Elser—from arrival to amenity spaces—felt cohesive, intentional, and modern.

The perforated pattern was developed to echo the verticality of downtown Miami’s skyline while softening the industrial feel of metal through layered geometry. The panels are fabricated from durable steel with a refined, matte-metallic powder coat that shifts subtly under different lighting conditions. The final installation establishes a bold yet balanced presence that elevates the aesthetic of the hotel’s public and amenity spaces.
