Gucci x Balenciaga – The Hacker Project

For one of the most talked-about luxury crossovers in recent history, Miami Design Shop was brought in to help execute the physical environment behind Gucci x Balenciaga’s Hacker Project — a disruptive retail concept that blurred brand codes and challenged traditional notions of collaboration.

Developed alongside Hive Creative and Arch Production & Design, this appointment-only installation translated the Hacker Project’s layered visual identity into a fully realized spatial experience. Our team led fabrication and technical execution, ensuring every material, finish, and surface reflected the tension between classic luxury and subversive remix culture.

The environment required precision coordination across multiple disciplines — from custom millwork and detailing to branded surface applications and refined installation logistics. Graphic overlays, dimensional elements, and curated display moments were executed with museum-level attention to finish and alignment, reinforcing the elevated yet disruptive aesthetic that defined the collection.

Miami Design Shop executed the project end-to-end, providing:

  • 7000 sq. foot Seamless Printed Carpet Installation

  • Dressing Room with LED Fixtures

  • Garment Displays

  • Mirrored Walls

  • Columns

  • Custom Dressing Room Bench

As with all Miami Design Shop projects, the focus extended beyond visual impact. Structural integrity, material performance, and seamless installation were engineered to meet the standards of two global fashion houses operating at the highest level of brand control.

The result was a controlled, immersive retail activation — sharp, intentional, and technically sound — delivering a physical expression of one of fashion’s most culturally significant moments.
